I Wore the Droopy Hat
I hope many of you can relate to this. Last Sunday I woke up wearing the droopy hat. I didn’t put it on. The droopy hat just seemed to fall on my head without my permission. This hat made me lose most of my strength and energy, physically and emotionally. I was dragging around trying to get myself together.
Being a person who usually wakes up with a happy smile, embracing most of my days as a new adventure, this being droopy wasn’t a good fit. Even my son and daughter-in law asked me what was wrong. Slowly dragging the words out of my mouth, I replied, I’m feeling droopy today.
But I am not going to focus on this droopy hat. I am going think positive and hang around positive and happy people. Sure enough, when I arrived in the church parking lot, I heard a voice shouting, Hey, Good morning, I turned around, saw a smiling face. Walked to door, and someone gave me a nice friendly, social distance hug and said some funny things.
I attended a luncheon and a group of people were laughing and having a good time. By the end of that afternoon, that droopy hat fell off somewhere. I was feeling great. I went home, watched football on TV and thought about how the droopy hat fell off my head.
Hanging around positive, jolly people, and all the laughter made the droopy hat run away. I had made the decision not to focus on the droopy feeling and think positive thoughts. I also know the Biblical principal, “As a person thinks, so he is.” It took some time, but I won over the droopy hat by applying this true principal.
When you feel droopy, what are some of the positive things you do to make the droopy hat fall off your head? I would like to get some fun and healthy, positive tips. Let us hear from you!
